Passive House

A passive house is a high-performance building standard designed to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature year-round with minimal reliance on active heating or cooling systems.

Rather than relying on massive HVAC units, a Passive House takes a "fabric first" approach, using the building's outer envelope to do nearly all the heavy lifting. It results in ultra-low energy consumption, slashing heating and cooling bills by up to 90% while dramatically reducing a home's carbon footprint.

Phenolic Insulation

Phenolic insulation is a premium, rigid thermoset foam insulation featuring a dense, closed-cell structure that delivers the highest thermal efficiency of any commonly used insulation material.

Bio - Based Adhesives

Natural adhesive technology is centered on soy protein-based, formaldehyde-free formulations, with ongoing R&D focused on bionic enhancements to improve performance for broader applications in eco-friendly panel materials.

Oriented Strand Board (OSB1-OSB4)

OSB (Oriented Strand Board)  is a high-performance engineered wood panel that has become a cornerstone of sustainable construction and interior fitout. It's made by compressing layers of wood strands (flakes) with adhesive in specific orientations, which gives it remarkable strength and stability.

The 5 Core Principles of Passive House Design

To meet the stringent Passivhaus Institut (PHI) certification, a dwelling must strictly integrate five key architectural elements:

1. High-Quality Insulation: Heavy, continuous insulation in the ceilings, walls, and floors traps heat inside during winter and locks it out during summer.

2. Airtight Construction: The building envelope is completely sealed to prevent uncontrolled drafts. This stops thermal leakage and protects the structural framing from moisture damage.

3. High-Performance Windows & Doors: Typically utilising double or triple-glazed windows with insulated frames, strategically orientated to maximise winter sun and optimize summer shade.

4. Thermal Bridge-Free Design: Eliminates pathways (like uninsulated metal beams or wood studs) that allow heat to bypass insulation and escape directly outside.

5. Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR): Because the house is airtight, a dedicated MVHR system continuously pumps in fresh, filtered outdoor air while exhausting stale air. It extracts the heat energy from the outgoing air to warm or cool the incoming fresh air, ensuring premium indoor air quality without losing thermal energy.
